My teaching practice is formed around the ethos that Art makes people powerful. I have been focused on the identity of the 'artistudent' since my PGCE final Exhibition, where I presented students with plaques to commemorate their efforts in their studies. The department I have run for the last five years is a space of critical thinking and individual creative process, a dynamic and exciting environment where young people learn how to excel within a range of creative contexts. Below is a selection of schemes of work across Key Stages that showcase a range of experimental pedagogical events. For me the idea of 'artisteachers' and 'artistudents', multifaceted identities to navigate, working together in a collaborative way makes for exciting and memorable magic moments of art making that develop life skills to take out into the world.
