A Level Art
A Level Art is structured around individual creativity and independent thought and has a focus on the genuine creative Journey. Students Initially explore process and project structure through an introductory project made up of process workshops, including 60 minute exhibitions, performance, collaboration as well as an introduction to traditional skills such as painting and printmaking. The artistudents then explore the theme of palimpsest, meaning the removal and addition of layers, to further build on the ability to make art through intensive and focused idea development and experimentation. This includes putting on an exhibition where each student uses a canvas frame as the basis for their final work. From this point students turn to their personal investigation, on a topic of their own choosing, with a studio space of their own where they can maintain a independent artistic practice that is personal and meaningful to them.
