ME, MYSELF AND I

This scheme of work, named after the powerful Beyonce Ballad, is a year of exploring the self through art, which we explore with Year 8. Students present themselves through a range of aesthetics, from Hassan Hajjaj inspired photoshoots, Fauvist portraiture and pattern design, to collaborative textiles quilts inspired by Rosie Lee Tompkins and Faith Ringgold. Students learn the importance of context, biography and storytelling in art, and how they can celebrate their individuality.
